Ingebrigt Håker Flaten (Exit) Knarr
(Exit) Knarr, the project of Norwegian bassist Ingebrigt Håker Flaten, was launched in 2020 as a commission for the Vossa Jazz Festival and has since developed into one of the most exciting ensembles in contemporary jazz. With a unique blend of jazz, folk, and global influences, the band impresses with its musical openness and creative depth.
The new album “Breezy,” released on September 27, 2024, on Sonic Transmissions Records, is a tribute to US trumpeter Jaimie Branch, who thrilled audiences with an unforgettable performance at the Willisau Jazz Festival in 2018. Her uncompromising musicality and experimental energy characterize the spirit of this recording—a passionate statement for artistic freedom and collective creativity.
