Guitar playing like a mountain range: that’s Solong, aka Klara Germanier. Raw and delicate, pure and authentic. As an electric guitarist, the Swiss musician knows all about the versatility of her instrument: she strums and solos, scratches and slides. Add to that a voice that is crystal clear and velvety rough at the same time. Jack White, Marc Ribot, and Patti Smith are influences on Solong’s sound, as are PJ Harvey and Cat Power. Behind the instrument is a unique individual who loves poetry and soccer, a rebel with a twinkle in her eye, and probably the world’s biggest Teddy Teclebrhan fan. In addition to her solo work, Solong also plays strings and sings with Evelinn Trouble and Klepka, and is climbing the guitar summit by jogging. So long – see you soon!
