Ubac
Ubac is an up-and-coming trio consisting of Myslaure Augustin (piano and composition), Christoph Utzinger (double bass), and Kevin Chesham (drums).
It is an interplay of short, partly repetitive ideas that unfold in a gently energetic atmosphere. The music thrives on subtle contrasts, combining clarity with openness and developing a quiet yet driving movement.
UBAC – the French word for the shady side of a mountain – suggests that life does not only flourish on the sunny side. The trio draws on nuances and restraint, finding fertility even in the hidden.
