WEIRD OF MOUTH
WEIRD OF MOUTH is the result of the fast-paced interplay between saxophonist Mette Rasmussen, pianist Craig Taborn, and drummer Ches Smith, in which composition and improvisation flow into one another.
The trio combines Rasmussen’s sonic exploration of her instrument with Taborn’s reputation as one of the best jazz pianists of our time and Smith’s diverse experience, including Haitian voodoo drumming. Together, they create a powerful, spontaneous musical experience that blurs the boundaries between composition and improvisation.
