Julia Heart

To be somewhat lost. Longing for someone, something from the past or something you never had and yet being content with it. That’s what saudade is all about. Lucerne-based Julia Heart has been fascinated by this Portuguese word ever since she discovered it. There is no translation in other languages. “The word reflects the feeling of lacking something without wanting it”, says Heart.

Compared to her 2019 eponymous debut album and the EP “The Nashville Session” that followed, Heart’s music is steadily evolving from country to folk-pop. Yet she always keeps her musical roots in mind. Reading between the lines, you’ll immediately recognise the hopeful malaise that Heart so often reflects in her lyrics.
